    • Abstract:
The article presents the history of Spanish comparative education in the early twentieth century. It analyzes the occupation of authors of the education studies, the subjects that attracted these authors, and their reasons of studying foreign education. The article concludes that Spanish comparative education during the early twentieth century has a steady increase in the number of foreign education publications and travel is the most common research method. Every kind of educational problem is studied and these studies aim to improve the Spanish educational system. It also highlights that little communication took place between Spanish comparativists, majority of research works are on a single educational area, and that minority of comparative studies are foreign studies of education.
