- Abstract:
The article presents suggestions of several allergists on the medication of outdoor athletes. According to allergist Wellington Tichenor, studies have shown that Benadryl users may not be aware of how drowsy the medication makes them. He advises athletes to stick to nondrowsy Claritin. Allergist Kris Saririan says that Allegra is one of the best long-term cures for anyone with seasonal allergies. While both Allegra and Claritin are nondrowsy and work by blocking sneeze-inducing histamines, Allegra can interact with antacids and a common antibiotic so it requires a prescription.
