      The article reports that independent publishers have marked a notable increase in sales during the past year, fighting fierce competition from their corporate rivals. According to the Nielsen BookScan's Total Consumer Market (TCM) in 2005, of the top 20 companies in the small publishers chart, nine out-paced market growth of 3.7%. The fastest-growing small children's publisher was Templar, which saw TCM revenue rise by 55.4% to £ 2.3 million. Egyptology tops the small publishers children's chart with sales of 34,437 copies.
