    • Abstract:
The article reports on the development of a project that would convert methane gas from wastewater treatment plant into electrical power and heat by using a generator named Co-Gen at a wastewater treatment plant in Gresham, Oregon. By using the generator in the process, industrial plants are able to save their annual electricity costs. This development leads to an additional profit to industrial plants for they will consume 55 percent less from their commercial power consumption. The project will cost 1.1 million U.S. dollars and estimated payback in just five years. Energy Trust of Oregon, a nonprofit organization, gives cash incentives for a significant success of the project in order to offset their start-up costs.
