    • Abstract:
This article presents an interview with Tufts University professor Daniel Dennett and discusses the atheism movement in response to a world with increasingly intolerant and aggressive religions. Dennett, author of the book "Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon," argues that religion is a cultural meme, a type of behavior that is passed down the generations. Religious belief, according to Dennett, has a basis only in culture, not in fact or science.
