    • Abstract:
The article presents information on lily-of-the-valley (Convallaria majallis) of the Lily family. This is a fragrant spring-blooming perennial herb grown from a horizontal rootstock from which a pip arises (small upright rootstock) which contains a bud and many roots. Leaves, flower, berries, and rootstocks are well-known for their toxicity. They contain dangerous amounts of cardiac glycosides (convallarin and convallamarin).
