- Abstract:
The author reports that N.F.L. owners have voted on, and accepted, a players union proposal to extend the collective bargaining agreement by six years. With this vote, the league has avoided playing without salary caps and the possibility of a strike. The author describes and provides statistics about the agreement, which raised the salary cap. Revenue sharing was a point of initial disagreement among the owners, but was eventually resolved through negotiations.
