- Abstract:
The article discusses the results of the author's study of several groups of failed asylum seekers who have sought asylum in Australia and are now living in Lombok, Indonesia. A definition of the term, refugee is given. The Australian and Indonesian governments have entered into an agreement to prevent the transport of asylum seekers to Indonesia where they stayed temporarily before making the final journey to Australia. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees handles the asylum seekers who are intercepted and returned to Indonesia.
