      The article focuses on the sisterly relationship between Guangdong Province, China and the U.S. state of Hawaii. The 20-year ties saw the expansion of business opportunities, promotion of tourism and educational exchanges. Hawaiian Governor Linda Lingle visited Guangdong in June 2005 to forge stronger ties, she was invited to Zhongshan University to speak about government's role in education in the 21st century.
