      The article presents information on the use of computer graphics in digital filmmaking. The art of computer graphics has reached its highest peak through short animated films. Largely invisible to the mass market, the primary venues for the short project are film festivals and animation festivals. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honors one short animated film with an Oscar and at least three with Oscar nominations. Of the films likely to be on the Academy's secret list of nomination candidates in 2006, only two were animated solely with 3D computer graphics tools: "One Man Band" and "9."
