The article focuses on the efforts of a doctor to continue his life after spending eight years in concentration camps in Prague, Czechoslovakia during World War II. He suffered constant starvation and a succession of camp diseases such as dysentery and typhoid fever. It cites the challenges faced by the doctor to reach the Red Cross station. He married a girl he met in the camp at the Old-New Synagogue in Prague.
