      The article discusses the medical advancements and public determination to cure cancer in the U.S. Surgeons find other alternatives other than amputation or removal of the affected parts in treating the disease. The National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society are spending money to improve the teaching of the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in medical schools. Medical research on finding treatment for the disease are being conducted at universities and hospitals.
