      The article reports on developments related to ophthalmology in the U.S. Robert D. Fechtner has informed the public that his institution has received an educational grant from Pfizer Inc. for a continuing medical education program on risk in ocular hypertension and glaucoma. Eve J. Higginbotham has received research grants and honoraria from Alcon Laboratories Inc., Allergan Inc. and Pfizer Inc. Felipe A. Medeiros and Robert N. Weinreb have developed the risk assessment calculator to forecast the risk of developing glaucoma among patients with ocular hypertension.
