- Abstract:
The article discusses a study on the mechanism of heredity and infection. The author notes that heredity and variation are the subject matter of genetics. The study of viruses has thus become a branch of cellular genetics, a concept that has affected the traditional distinction between heredity and infection. A discussion on the discovery of proviruses and the implications of episomes for biology concludes the study.
