The article presents information about the increase in natural gas consumption in Switzerland. The consumption of natural gas is expected to grow by 7.5% in 2005 over 2004. It shows the growing significance of this source of energy in Switzerland. The consumption of natural gas will get a boost from expansion of the network of gas pipelines into economically important regions in central Switzerland in the next three years. It imports natural gas mostly from Germany and the Netherlands.
