- Abstract:
The article presents a case report of Wilson disease in a female teenage patient. The patient exhibited behavioral changes, irritability, increased anger, depression and anxiety. The disease results in the accumulation of abnormal levels of copper in the liver and eventually other areas of the body. It results from mutations in alleles of the ATP7B gene. Its clinical features include liver and renal disease, neurologic and skeletal abnormalities, psychiatric illness and hemolytic anemia.
