      The article focuses on the neurological examination of a non-verbal child. In establishing a correct diagnosis of the child's speech disorder, neurologist needs the aid of an audiologist, speech pathologist, psychologist and a child psychiatrist. The neurologist examines any evidence of an organic condition of the brain which could cause the disorder. It is essential to determine the child's family history to rule out if similar difficulty is present in the family line. The neurologist then examines the child's general aspect and performance. Laboratory examinations are also necessary to determine any abnormal calcifications, tumors or vascular anomalies.
