    • Abstract:
The article examines the attitudes and perception of Russians toward the U.S. The majority of Russian citizens and a large part of its elite have viewed the U.S. with suspicion and hostility. They view the U.S. as an enemy and a threat to peace around the world. They have grown suspicious of the U.S. foreign policies. They suspect that the country is behind everything that is taking place in the world, that the country has orchestrated violence and colored revolutions in some parts of the world. They claim that the U.S. plans to corrupt the international influence of Russia. This attitude reflects the Russian feeling of wounded pride, caused by the country's loss of superpower status.
