- Abstract:
The article focuses on the decision of the state government to test radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to see if they can protect elk herds from contagious disease in Colorado. The author examines the extent of the application of the RFID tags. The state hopes to prevent the spread of the chronic wasting disease, which is endemic in the state. The state is using such tests which would comply with the regulations of the National Animal Identification System.
