    • Abstract:
The article presents information on a sampling related to use of condom with casual partners among urban African-American and Hispanic males. According to the article authors most of diagnosed AIDS patients in the United States belong to African-American and Hispanic community. The statistical data on behavior reveals that ethnic differences among African-American And Hispanic persons is the main cause of AIDS risk. Out of several psychosocial models of health behavior two dominant models in health psychology: the Health Belief Model (HBM) and the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) have been included in the sampling. Several studies have validated HUM model in predicting that perceived social, psychological, and physiological costs and benefits of condom use have been associated with predictable increases and decreases in condom use. According to TRA model, the use of condoms is affected by the attitudinal behavior and not by the beliefs related to its pros and cons. The survey interview assessed sexual experience, condom use, and social and demographic characteristics of the respondents including questions related to their first and recent experience with different types of intercourse with different types of partners.
