    • Abstract:
The article reports on Africa's first female downhill skier. Sarah Ben Mansour, who is of both Belgian and Moroccan descent, had a 50 per cent chance of being able to compete in the Winter Olympics following injury to a ligament during a December race. Last week she underwent arthroscopy to repair the damage, and she will test her knee during minor races in Italy in the weeks leading up to her event, the giant slalom.
