The article presents information on the largest rehabilitation trial ever funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This clinical trial named "Locomotor Experience Applied Post-Stroke" has been designed to investigate the best timing and effectiveness of particular physical therapist intercessions in reducing the walking disabilities in patients after stroke. NIH's National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research will provide $13.5 million over a 5-year period to support this clinical trial.
