- Abstract:
The article focuses on football player Matt Hasselbeck. If he leads the football team Seattle Seahawks to a championship, Hasselbeck can leave the scars behind. His football career is built on a foundation of ego crushers, from having to settle for a berth in the lower-tier Blue-Gray game; to receiving an invitation, but never a plane ticket, to the National Football League (NFL) Scouting Combine; to being rejected by two super agents; to working out for just one NFL team, the Green Bay Packers, who waited until the sixth round to draft him in 1998; to being cut in his rookie training camp and then being left out of the team picture because he was a practice squad player; to flopping so badly in Seattle after coming to the Seahawks as the franchise savior that he was booed once in warmups by the hometown fans. INSET: NFC divisional playoff matchups.
