    • Abstract:
The article describes the development of computer-generated characters to make online learning easier, by a team of scientists led by Amy L. Baylor, associated professor of instructional systems and director of the Florida State University's Center for Research of Innovative Technologies for Learning. This development is designed to give computers a human face with animated three-dimensional characters, known as pedagogical agents. Evidently, humanlike interfaces can enhance the ability of computers to serve as learning tools.
