      The article presents information about the latest developments related to Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). CAS has announced Internet delivery of all the patents of U.S. since 1974 via CAS's new service, Chemical Patents Plus, part of the CAS Document Detective Service. Chemical Patents Plus incorporates a specially indexed collection of U.S. chemical patents and rotatable 3-D structure views for many CAS Registry Numbers via browsers that support JAVA. CAS has announced several new additions to STN International, including Japanese regulatory information, a new alerting service, and zero connect time pricing. The announcements were made at the American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting held in New Orleans. CAS and Derwent Information Ltd. have announced a strategic agreement to deliver drug information to the pharmaceutical industry via SciFinder, a desktop research tool that was released by CAS last year. This announcement marks the first time CAS has added a searchable database from an outside source to its SciFinder product.
