- Abstract:
The article presents information related to the creation of Web Pages. World Wide Web authoring need not cost a fortune nor involve hard-core technical skills. In fact, there is a whole range of products out there with the aim of helping people author Web pages, and a new generation of tools is being developed to make it easy to create "live" documents based on Sun's Java and its rivals. Tools for helping ordinary people to create Web pages are not just confined to basic HTML. Twenty-eight companies including Apple, Silicon Graphics, and Hewlett-Packard have signed up for JavaScript, a program from Netscape that makes creating Java applets easier. Java allows Web pages to come alive with moving graphics, animations, and live documents such as spreadsheets that are updated on the screen in real time. Until now, however, it has demanded hard-core programming skills. When Internet Studio was first announced last year, it was going to be the tool to propel Microsoft, the undisputed champion of the desktop software market, into the world of online publishing.
