The article focuses on the utilization automobile seat belt by U.S. citizens to avoid traffic accidents. The use of seat belt have prevented Francis Kocinski, an engineering student at the University of Buffalo in New York, from incurring major injuries after hitting a pole. Aircraft designer and builder Glenn H. Curtiss introduced the device for aviation in 1930. There was an increased demand for safety belts at the American College of Surgeons.
