TECH JOB CUTS UP 18%.

This article reports on the streamlining of jobs in the technology sector for the first three quarters of 2005 in the U.S. The percentage of job cuts this year is lower than the job cuts reported during the same period in 2004. But unlike other industries that have seen job cuttings, the technology segment has lost jobs without a similar rate of hiring to offset the cuts. The only significant technology sector job growth occurred in the professional services areas, where employment in computer systems design and related services grew.
