      This article features author and illustrator Marisabina Russo. Her first book for children, The Line up Book was published when the youngest of her three children was a baby. Although she enjoys making up the characters in her books and designing the pages and layout, Russo notes that painting the pictures is the best part of the process. She won the International Reading Association Children's Book Award for The Line up Book in 1987.
