- Abstract:
This article provides information on 1991 InfoText annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. InfoText is dedicated to the pay-per-call industry. The meeting attracted more than 1,500 attendees and about 100 exhibitors. A very important goal for the conference was to educate the public about the legitimacy of the pay-per-call field and demonstrate the breadth of services now being delivered as well as the possibilities. The first Golden Phone Awards, sponsored jointly by InfoText Magazine and the National Association for Information Service, were presented for the best free or paid services. Not surprisingly, the award in the Financial/Business category went to Dow Jones for its JournalPhone, a 900 service providing stock quotes and other investment information that was launched in November 1989.
