      This article provides information on the White House Conference on Library and Information Services in Washington D.C. from July 9 to 13, 1991. The conference will make recommendations to improve library and information services to enhance literacy, increase productivity, and strengthen democracy. Hundreds of topic areas will be considered under the literacy, productivity, democracy umbrella. The recommendations created by the conference will be forwarded to the U.S. President and the U.S. Congress for their action.
