      This article reports on the addition of the Fairplay Information Systems (FISYS) Ship Characteristics database on Vu/Text. FISYS contains complete ship details including vessel type, status, vessel name, current owner, flag, deadweight, year of build, and more than 50 other categories of commercial and technical information. The database is updated continually. Using FISYS, shipping companies, brokers, charterers, and marine equipment suppliers can find ships that meet any group of specifications. FISYS joins several other maritime databases on Vu/Text.
