    • Abstract:
This section presents information on rattlesnakes. A rattler can strike from any position with a range roughly equal to half of its body length. When it bites, it may or may not inject venom, but it probably will. Though potentially deadly, all rattlesnakes are retiring and skittish. The rattler will be more irritable and aggressive during the time its eyesight is compromised, but it is thought that snakes are even more prone to hiding during this vulnerable stage. The level of activity of a rattler is determined by the temperature and its need for food and water.
