This article offers update on several foods with antioxidant components as of November 2005. Researchers may be losing interest in antioxidant vitamins, so these components are currently being added to foods like Tropicana Healthy Heart orange juice, Kellogg's Smart Start Antioxidants cereal, and Quaker Take Heart oatmeal. The industry is also moving beyond vitamins to other candidates. According to Regina Ziegler of the U.S. National Cancer Institute, new crop of potential antioxidants are emerging in the market. These include anthocyanins in grapes, catechins in chocolate, tea and red wine, flavonols in onions and apples, hydroxycinnamic acids in coffee, isoflavones in soy, and others.
