      The article focuses on the transfer of technology at European universities. It has been 25 years since the Bayh-Dole Act began spurring American universities to patent inventions made by their faculty members, and nearly 10 years since the phenomenon began to sweep across universities in England and Scotland. Now technology transfer is becoming de rigueur at a growing number of institutions throughout Continental Europe, in spite of some formidable obstacles. Jeffrey D.
