    • Abstract:
During the Revolutionary War, Vermont's Rutland County was host to several stockade fortifications to protect settlers against Native and Tory threats from beyond the northern frontier. Today, the grounds of Fort Warren, Fort Rutland, Fort Ranger, and Fort Vengeance have all but vanished--both physically and to those who are not historically inclined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
