- Additional Information
- Abstract:
A 77-year-old woman developed lactic acidosis and pancytopenia while being treated with linezolid for multidrug resistant pulmonary tuberculosis. Despite receiving sodium-bicarbonate for lactic acidosis, her condition deteriorated, leading to her passing away from complications such as pleural effusion and ventricular arrhythmia. The woman had a history of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and her antitubercular treatment was discontinued due to lack of efficacy. [Extracted from the article]
