- Abstract:
A recent study conducted at the University of Opole in Poland explored the impact of adding gold nanoparticles to hydrogels containing itraconazole on anti-Candidal activity and drug release. The research found that the combination of gold nanoparticles and itraconazole enhanced the diffusion coefficient in the gels, potentially improving drug delivery. Additionally, the study showed that the combination of gold nanoparticles and itraconazole had a growth-inhibitory effect on Candida albicans, suggesting a potential application in the treatment of fungal infections. The findings highlight the potential of utilizing gold nanoparticles in drug delivery systems to enhance therapeutic properties. [Extracted from the article]
