    • Abstract:
      The paper provides an overview of key themes in the field of open science, with a focus on the Slovenian situation. It provides an overview of the development of scholarly communication, concentrating on the reasons and process of development of open science, an overview of open science policies in the European Research Area and national open science policies in Slovenia, and the impact of open science on libraries, in particular academic and special libraries. The authors show that the development of open science brings many challenges, as well as opportunities, for libraries, on condition that they appropriately adaptat their operations, services and competences.       Prispevek prinaša pregled ključnih tem na področju odprte znanosti s poudarkom na slovenski situaciji. Podani so pregled razvoja znanstvenega komuniciranja z osredotočanjem na razloge ter potek razvoja odprte znanosti, pregled politik odprte znanosti v Evropskem raziskovalnem prostoru in nacionalne politike odprte znanosti v Sloveniji ter vpliv odprte znanosti na knjižnice, zlasti visokošolske in specialne. Avtorja pokažeta, da razvoj odprte znanosti za knjižnice prinaša mnogo izzivov, pa tudi priložnosti, seveda ob ustrezni prilagoditvi delovanja, storitev in kompetenc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
