    • Abstract:
As we reflect on the last 50 years of pediatric nursing, we share this narrative to provide our perspectives on the life and work of Dr. Claire M. Fagin. Our intent is to educate and inspire everyone to continue to fight for the importance and independence of pediatric nursing care and science, and to celebrate the work of visionaries like Dr. Fagin. She conducted groundbreaking research that led to changing the paradigm for person- and family-centered care and the norms around parental presence at the bedside for hospitalized children. She also served as an inspirational leader for higher education. Dr. Fagin touched our lives in various ways, and we hope this narrative resonates with your life of service to children and their families. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
