    • Abstract:
Recent research from Charite - University Medicine Berlin focuses on post-transplant diabetes in kidney transplant recipients. The study found that traditional diagnostic methods like HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose may not accurately detect post-transplantation diabetes mellitus (PTDM) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) in the early post-transplant phase. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) was shown to be a valuable tool for diagnosing IGT in stable phases after kidney transplantation. This study highlights the importance of timely and accurate diagnosis of glucose metabolism disorders in transplant recipients. [Extracted from the article]
