These scholars taught Qurānic recitation, interpretation, tajwid (art of recitation) and memorization to children, women and adults, privately and publicly. They engaged with their communities, promoting Qurānic education and values. They memorized and recited the Qurān, serving as role models and inspiring others. Some women became renowned scholars, specializing in Qurānic exegesis, Hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence. They participated in intellectual debates and discussions on Qurānic exegesis and interpretation. They played leadership roles in educational institutions, overseeing Qurānic education programs.
