    • Abstract:
Researchers from Nigde Omer Halisdemir University have developed a new surgical technique, the trans-Achilles percutaneous fixation technique, for posterior malleolus fractures. The study aimed to define a safe zone for these fractures by identifying important anatomical structures in the region. Using cadavers, researchers successfully applied a trans-Achilles Kirschner wire, ensuring a safe distance from vital anatomical structures. The study concluded that the proposed technique is safe for fixing posterior malleolar fractures, but further exploration of long-term clinical outcomes is needed. [Extracted from the article]
