TURYSTYKA A DOBROSTAN SPOŁECZNOŚCI RECEPCYJNYCH - KLUCZOWE WYZWANIA. (Polish)

TOURISM VS WELL-BEING OF HOSTING COMMUNITIES - GAPS AND CHALLENGES. (English)

In countries where tourism revenues constitute a large percentage of the economy, a rapid increase in GDP in the broad sense is usually observed. This leads to the belief--especially at the administrative level--that tourism is inherently positive, bringing significant benefits to destinations. However, many studies indicate quite the opposite results. The assessment of tourism's impact on well-being largely depends on the perspective taken and the indicators used in the studies. The vast majority of well-being concepts/measures, generally used to study societies, are not applicable to examining the impact of tourism on the well-being of host communities. The article attempts to: • identify the dominant concepts/perspectives applicable to the study of the well-being of host communities in tourist destinations, • highlight the most significant threats and challenges to the well-being of host communities in tourist destinations in light of these concepts/perspectives. The article is based on literature from selected disciplines and on program documents published by leading international organizations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

W państwach, gdzie przychody z turystyki stanowią duży udział procentowy w gospodarce, zwykle obserwuje szybki wzrost PKB sensu largo. W prostej linii, prowadzi to do przekonania - zwłaszcza na szczeblu administracyjnym - że turystyka jest czymś z założenia pozytywnym, przynoszącym destynacjom znaczne korzyści. Wiele badań wskazuje jednak na rezultaty zgoła odmienne. Ocena wpływu turystyki na dobrostan zależy w dużej mierze od tego, jaka perspektywa zostanie przyjęta oraz jakie wskaźniki zostaną uwzględnione w badaniach. Zdecydowana większość koncepcji/pomiarów dobrostanu, stosowanych ogólnie do badania społeczeństw, nie jednak ma zastosowania do badania wpływu turystyki na dobrostan społeczności recepcyjnych. W artykule podjęta zostanie próba: • wskazania dominujących koncepcji/perspektyw, które mają zastosowanie w badaniach dobrostanu społeczności recepcyjnych destynacji turystycznych, • wskazania najważniejszych zagrożeń i wyzwań dla dobrostanu społeczności recepcyjnych destynacji turystycznych w świetle tych koncepcji/perspektyw. Artykuł opiera się na literaturze przedmiotu wybranych dyscyplin oraz na dokumentach programowych publikowanych przez wiodące organizacje międzynarodowe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
