- Abstract:
The article from ENR: Engineering News-Record reports that the $160-million renovation of Boston's Sumner Tunnel was completed ahead of schedule, with substantial completion reached on October 6. The project, which began in April 2022, involved extensive work on the 90-year-old tunnel, including the installation of precast arch segments and ceiling slabs, as well as the rehabilitation of concrete roadway and asphalt paving. State Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver praised the efforts of general contractor J.F. White in accelerating the project to minimize disruptions to travelers and surrounding communities.
