    • Abstract:
The article presents information on incidents related to digging of tunnels under the Berlin Wall in Germany. According to Germany's police, tunnels are used to smuggle spies. Of the many tunnels dug under the Berlin Wall, the biggest tunnel that had been dug was used to free refugees. That tunnel was about five feet high and sloped slightly downhill--built that way to make it easier to haul the dirt back and to provide drainage. Electric lights were installed along the entire length of the tunnel.
