- Abstract: The article analyzes the role of popular theater in the dissemination of economic theorems during the Spanish Enlightenment. The author argues that economic-sentimental theater acculturates economic behavior by mediating it with traditional Christian ethical values. The study is based on discourse and power analysis, complemented by gender studies. Specific works that reflect the relationship between the home and political economy, as well as the valuation of work and gender inequality, are analyzed. The study highlights the influence of the Bourbon reform on the representation of economic activity and hegemonic masculinity. [Extracted from the article]
