- Abstract:
A 50-year-old woman developed large vessel vasculitis (LVV) after receiving zoledronic-acid treatment for osteoporosis. She experienced symptoms such as fever, flu-like symptoms, myalgia, and arthralgia, along with pain and swelling in her left ankle. Laboratory tests showed increased levels of acute phase reactants. The woman received treatment with cephalosporins and ibuprofen, and her symptoms gradually improved. CT scans revealed thickening and contrast enhancement in several blood vessels, confirming the diagnosis of zoledronic-acid-induced LVV. The woman's symptoms resolved and her laboratory tests returned to normal after two weeks of follow-up without treatment. [Extracted from the article]
