    • Abstract:
A recent study published in Cardiovascular Week examined the effects of LDL-C-lowering therapy on patients with acute myocardial infarction. The study found that very intensive lipid-lowering therapy resulted in a significant reduction in atheroma volume at the lesion level. Additionally, treatment with alirocumab was associated with an increase in the minimum lumen area of the lesion and a transition from high-risk plaque phenotypes to more stable, less lipid-rich phenotypes. This research provides valuable insights into the potential benefits of aggressive lipid-lowering therapy for patients with heart disease. [Extracted from the article]
