    • Abstract:
A recent study conducted at the Dean McGee Eye Institute examined the use of intravenous tranexamic acid in reducing postoperative ecchymoses (bruising) after upper blepharoplasty surgery. The study involved 325 patients who were randomly assigned to receive either intravenous tranexamic acid or serve as a control group. The results showed that patients who received tranexamic acid had significantly lower ecchymosis ratings compared to the control group at the eighth postoperative day. The researchers concluded that systemic tranexamic acid may lead to improved patient satisfaction and decreased occupational downtime. [Extracted from the article]
